Meet Landon Gentry
Landon was born in Pensacola, Florida where he lived until he and his family transferred to Patuxent River, Maryland. He was a member of the high school golf team and a skilled baseball player. After relocating to complete high school in Jacksonville, Florida, Landon attended college on a baseball scholarship playing intimidating first base and graduated a scholar athlete.
Landon began his long drive career in 2007 when he and a friend were watching the RE/MAX Long Drive Championships on TV. He decided at that moment he wanted to give long drive a try and went the next day and bought a driver head. He became a model of consistency on the LDA tour and a tour money leader.
Since 2010, Landon has cashed a check in nearly every event, which has included numerous top 10 finishes, 8 championships, an International Long Drive Championship in Sweden, one 5th place finish at the 2010 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship and a 3rd place finish at the 2012 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship.
As Landon continues to hit drives in excess of 400 yards, and as he works toward his goal of RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion, he has become a constant figure in the corporate world where he provides long drive demonstrations and entertainment.
